When the water is turned on the water is forced through the misting nozzles to produce an extremely fine spray. This spray quickly evaporates and this evaporative process draws the heat from the air and replaces it with much cooler air.

The level of cooling that will be experienced will depend on the humidity level in the surrounding air. The lower the humidity, the more effective the misting system will prove to be. It should be noted, too, that although water is sprayed into the air you won’t get wet by sitting in the area, the evaporative process ensures that the entire area remains dry.
